I completed Day 3 of the Couch-to-5k running program today. It was definitely the hardest day so far, most likely because it was hotter out than the other 2 days. My biggest issue, though, is that my calves seem to tighten up pretty quickly. I’m going to make sure to take more time to stretch next time I run, so hopefully that will help things.

Did Day 1 of this program today: 5 minute walk followed by 10 reps of 60 seconds jogging and 90 seconds walking. I did a whole lot better than I thought I would, and I think I’m going to really like the program. I’ve never been into running, probably because I always try to jump right in and run a couple miles right off the bat. With this program, I should be running 5k in about 9...

Everyone who loves Git hopefully loves branching. However, there’s a problem with branching: merging your work back in. Suprisingly enough, Git’s inflexibility makes this action quite simple. It’s my opinion that Git users should be branching frequently, and rebasing them back into the mainline when ready.

A thoughtful piece on providing REST using Code Igniter. I really like the way they’ve handled routes.
Good find by Colin—REST routes are so much nicer (and make more sense), and it’s something I was missing in CodeIgniter.
